So my kitchen planning is coming along - we have shaker style (full overlay) cabinets that will be a deep green (think earthy), cobra soapstone (for both counters and island) and white subway tile with grey grout backsplash. Lots of rectangles and squares with flowy white veins from the soapstone. Floor will be rustic pine to match the rest of my 130 year old house.

I am going to put a niche behind the stove to add interest and give me a place to display some of our cool kitchen stuff.... I'd like to either pick up the element of the veins in terms of shape or maybe go completely different and do something with circles?

Would LOVE peoples thoughts on this. Just had this idea about 1/2 hour ago so am in teh beginning stage of making a decision!
