Not in the kitchen, but we have glue-down in the DR, LR, halls and all bedrooms. The kitchen has its original pavers. We've had it in place for about 15 months and it has held up very well. But it does fade in direct sunlight, so be mindful of that.

Where did you buy cork that can be glued (versus the kind that comes with tongue and groove)? I'm thinking of using cork as stair treads (individual rectangles on top of each stair, not running it like a carpet runner). Not sure where to start looking for it.

We got ours at Lumber Liquidators. It was super cheap. It is the standard, old-school-looking cork. No fancy swirls or chunks. It comes with a factory coat of poly on it, but it should also be sealed after install. It comes in rectangular pieces that are just shy of 1' x 2'.

If you're just sticking it on a stair tread, like a thin little carpet, it should work fine. But it can't wrap a stair nosing like carpet can. Thankfully, we didn't have any stairs to deal with.
