Lights - matchy matchy or different??

I need to get one pendant for above the sink and three for over the island (over 8 ft long), and then 1 chandelier for over the table. The kitchen is very big and open (we renovated what was a small kitchen and family room, into one big kitchen). I also have recessed lights above the kitchen table (4 with chandelier in the middle) and recessed lights throughout the kitchen.

My question is - did you go with all pendants and chandelier in the same manufacturer, family, shade color, finish, etc. Do all of your lights match exactly or did you take from different manufacturers and colors. My faucet and cabinet handles/pulls are all in oil rubbed bronze so I was going to stay with that for the pendant and chandelier finish.

I'd go with similar in finish but pick your fave of each and coordinate rather than make it matchy matchy. Unless... your faves are from the same line then just get those and know they match for sure, lol.

My fixtures are all different--different manufacturers, and different finishes (well two have the same finish--sorta).

I was very unconventional with my lighting choices, but I really like them, and I'm the one who has to look at them every day. ;^)

thanks....I'm still undecided. I know which ones I want for over sink and island, it's the main one over the table that I am not sure with. I do want to stick with the same finish if I can....but not go with too matchy match (I just love saying that....it sounds like Marky Mark!!!

I would agree with going with same finishes but not matchy matchy. What did you decide for sink/island?
