Ooooo....nice! Everything looks nice together! Nice sink! I like how you placed the faucet & SD!

So, who are those two men? Contractors?

How about posting it to the "Kitchens In Progress" blog?

That's one heck of a cooktop you have there. Everything is beautiful!!

Yep - those two guys are contractors....

As you can see, the kitchen is not huge.

The little nook in the corner never used to exist before. We used to have three doorways there, one leading to the backyard. (replaced with sliding glass door in dining room), one going to half bath off the kitchen (YUCK!), which was moved 90 degrees now accessible from the hallway. Finally, there was a door to the basement. We reversed the basement stairs and made that door accessible from the hallway.

    That's our story.....

    My splurge was the cooktop...

    It occurred to me -

perhaps you'd like to see the BEFORE - 1960 original:

I have black impala granite polished. Yours makes me wish I had opted for the honed. It looks great.

Your kitchen is coming along very nicely. I actually gasped when I saw the old pics - I'm currently living with the same cabinets and pink laminate countertop & backsplash. Can't wait to get rid of it. The new pics are such inpiration to me.

Looks great already. I can't wait to see it finished. And did you sneak into my house in the spring to take the before pics? ;-)

    Looks good!

Hey, I had theose same cabs in my old kitchen, too (different handles, though)! Our house was built in '67 or thereabouts. Must've been popular cabs back then!

neverdunn, your kitchen is gorgeous. Everything flows so nicely together. Love the sink and cabinets. Great job--and thanks for sharing!

Thanks all - I'll post more next week when we're closer...The backsplash won't be for a few more wks yet...

I'm in love with the style and color of your cabs. Wished mine looked as good as yours. What a major, major improvemetn from the old! You must be thrilled. It looks great. Will the L portion of your uppers have glass? That would be so pretty. Thanks for sharing.

The cabinet on the peninsula that hangs higher than the others will have glass, yes. The corner cabinet will not have glass. But both will be operable from both sides, which I thought would be convenient. I will put everyday dishes in that large upper corner cabinet so a person can set the table from either side.

So I'm confused -- why'd you change your kitchen?

    Ha ha ha ha ha!

It is looking so fabulous and, most important of all, functional. Holy cow -- what a difference removing those three doorways has made!

I really love your door / drawer style -- that detail is just lovely.

    Yea for you!

    Great choices...looks beautiful.
What a dramatic change in workspace (and everything else!)
    Look forward to more photos.

BEAUTIFUL! What metal hardware are you using for knobs and draw pulls? Did you buy your own or are you using the ones that come from Medallion, Im undecided.
    Thanks
