I know a guy that charges over $400.00 to apply drytreat. It takes a guy about an hour and costs him maybe $25.00 in materials, but he keeps getting repeat customers so it must be worth it.

Permanent sealer may leave your stone counters looking plasticky. And as Treb said it is not cost-effective compared to buying a container of sealant which will last years and requires no skill to apply.

Also some granites that are the more dense granites don't need any sealer at all. My granite counters are nine years old and I've never sealed them and they still look like day they were installed. Which granite do you have?

My granite is ivory fantasy and I had it installed in February. I am getting black stains. The granite guy suggested the permanent sealer. I had another streak and it eventually went away. This one is not budging.

The raw unexposed edge of your backsplash is wicking water and stains. Unless you can get it to start sucking sealer, it will continue.

I'd pull the splash and poultice the stain. Clean the deck and seal the raw splash bottom. Set some1/4" x 1/4" plastic laminate shims on the deck and lay a continuous generous bead of 100% silicone, then place the splash on the shims/silicone. You should have continuous squeeze out that you can spray with Windex and wipe off with a wet finger. Wipe off the Windex overspray and you're done. The raw bottom is permanently sealed and you've got a silicone gap that's wide enough to be replaced if it ever needs to be.
