batch feed disposal question

I've had batch feed disposals for a long time and like them a lot -- they just seem safer.

But in our renovation project, I'm thinking of going to a single-bowl sink. I realize now that every kitchen sink I've ever known has been a double bowl -- so disposal unit on one side, sink with regular drain basket on the other.

So here's my question: Is it possible to get some sort of sink strainer/drain basket that fits into the hole when you're not using the disposal? I'd like to have something that keeps silverware from falling in while draining the sink, but that can also be plugged to get a bowlful of water. And, of course, that can be pulled out to accommodate the disposal magnetic drain plug/switch.

Right now, I have a strainer that I can put in to fill the hole but I can't close it to get a bowl of water.
