My kitchen is still on paper, and my choices won't work with that mosaic, but I think it's beautiful. Depending on which colorway you choose, it can be busy, which would limit your choice of countertops. E.g., I don't see it working with a busy granite with a lot of movement, but it might look fantastic with engineered stone in a solid color, like Caesarstone, etc. I also find it to be a very modern-feeling backsplash material. Have you chosen your cabinets?

My cabinets are my original cabinets which are a warm light maple called Autumn, and I'll be installing Ubatuba granite counter tops. I was open to choices other than Ubatuba, but it actually looks best in my kitchen and doesn't fight the flooring which runs through my entry, main hallway, kitchen, and laundry room.

The tile which was installed 11 years ago, is a shiny 13 inch Italian porcelain tile that approximates limestone (light background with swirls, streaks of grey, warm brown, taupe, and wee bit of pink tones). Admitedly, the shiny finish is outdated, but it's too expensive and extensive a job to replace all that tile for a house I'll be reselling in a year. Also many back splash tiles and counter top colors tend to bring out some pinkish undertones in the flooring which then fights the cabinet color. The tile has been a challenge to design around for sure.

So, the Artistic Tile Satchmo sticks in the color New York pull together the warm cabinet color, the cool grey of the stainless steel appliances, and the light glossy flooring. The tile makes the flooring make sense both due to the glossy finish and color tones.

The glass tiles are swirly so there are lots of butterscoth browns, tans, taupes, greys, and a few subtle olive greens that are not apparent in the website photo. There are actually some light brown tiles that have a slight pink tone which further helps make the floor make sense with everything else. Every tile is slightly different so there are many subtle variations in colors.
It's actually the one tile I found that pulls everything together in my kitchen.

Yes, I'm risking the backsplash might be busy, but I think it will be busy in a sophisticated way due to the earthy colors and modern spin on the traditional brick pattern.
