I personally would try to tweak my layout to accomodate a cabinet with drawers next to my stove for pot storage. For me, it seems so much more convenient to access pots/pans with one motion of opening a drawer while at the stove. I don't have that yet... but will in my new kitchen! Good luck with your choices.

I was talked into pullouts next to my stove in the first remodel and I really didn't care for them. Go for the drawers! How about posting a layout for the layout wizards to tweak a few more inches for ya?

I have Merillat and I love them, they are quality cabinets. We have the plywood construction, soft close and full extion drawers/pullouts. I happen to have 21" pullouts on each side of the range and they work great. I just measured mine for you, when you say deep I assume you mean front to back? the pullouts are 19" usable space from front to back. Here is a pic, I hope this helps you. You can fit more in the pullouts than you think.

Our kitchen will lay out like this:
18" pantry; 36 " FD refrig. w/ panels around; 21" cabinet (may have deep pull outs, which are deeper side walls, but not pull out draws); 30 slide in stove; 21" deep pullouts - if space allows may be 24" I have a deep window & ending here

Oposite wall L shaped - entrance to room then 21" (not fully sure); 36" corner cabinet; sink (27" sink base); 18 or 15" 2 pail garbage; dishwasher; 24" cabinets. How does this all sound. This is much bigger than I currently have.

We are using a Classic cabinet - laBrella Square, but upgrading for better construction & closure. Plan to ask contractor if they are = to Masterpiece, i think so though.
