We love ours for some of the reasons you hate yours. They don't absorb water well, which means that dirt rides on the surface. That means they might look dirty more often, but they clean up to spotless when you run water over them. It also means they STINK as doormats.

Our 9 x 12 area rug of flor tiles stays together without the dots. I suspect smaller rugs are more problematic in this regard.

I guess it's a poor choice for your use, but it's stellar for ours. We'd never be able to have a standard rug under our daily-use dining table. These tiles are the perfect solution for us.

DD2 received her FLOR 8x10 rug today. It's for her LR. She and her DH had it down in no time. Loves it. I over ordered by 4 tiles, so she's using that in laundry room.

I know someone who has it in her kitchen and her DH study and they haven't had any problems.
