Pull out or pull down faucet/sink shape

Trying to decide on a faucet. I had a pull out before and sometimes the water would drip back along the hose into the sink base cabinet. I thought I would avoid that with a pull down type but they don't seem to reach far enough into the sink area. Also, not sure if I'm getting a D shape or rectangular sink and if sink shape would make a difference in the type of faucet I get.

We recently updated our kitchen which included replacement of a pull-out with a pull-down faucet. Though it is positioned off-center, no problem washing any corner of the sink.

I was also considering a pull down faucet but was concerned it didn't reach far enough into the sink area. I like the D shaped sinks but don't know if putting a pull down faucet off to the side will work.

I never noticed that reaching into the sink problem with the pulldown faucets I've seen at the showrooms. If you have a showroom near you, you could ask them to show you ones that reach the farthest into the sink. Or post a new thread entitled something like "which faucets reach the farthest into sink?" Your title isn't descriptive to that point.

I don't like D shaped sinks so I can't help you there!

I talked to a sales person at The Great Indoors recently and she said the pull down faucet is much easier to use but we didn't discuss the reach.

you can get the length of hose that you want to have.
Hoses are an item you can change out -- in many cases.

Berdavids - your faucet's issue of water dripping down the hose is not a function of it being a pull-out style, but is a problem with your particular faucet or faucet model. I am linking below a thread about pull-downs vs. pull-outs that gives great points on the pros and cons of each type. It is a matter of personal preference which style you choose - though I prefer my pull-out faucet, I don't think there is a "correct" choice between the two styles.

A 3rd style (besides pull-out or pull-down) is called the "professional" or "pre-rinse" style. It's more of a pull-down, but has a completely different appearance. They're usually very expensive. You can't have cabinets above the pre-rinse faucets cause they're tall. One beautiful example is the Franke FF-1700, but it is very tall and very expensive. Another "professional" model that is less expensive and not so tall is the Blanco Meridian Semi Professional.

It's a Blanco. I guess the model is Blancokontrole (model 157098) - at least that is the name on the literature.

The control is really easy to use. Like the faucet, especially it's style however it does not have a spray.
