My 2 favorite Kitchen tools...

haha...you KNEW it would have something to do with yummy foods ! If you haven't already decided on a NYE dessert then here you go. Fast, easy and most importantly...delicious ! Also very low calorie...well...3 out of 4 isn't too shabby.

I am attaching the link to the recipe. I didn't make it in the wine glasses . You can see it fills a 2 qt souffle dish so it wouldn't have fit. I did 3 layers of cookies in the dish...7 each layer. I also added a couple Tbsp of dry Marsala wine to the filling. No other changes. Tiramisu is also translated as " pick me up "...you will have to pick up your guests after they taste this as it is fantastic !

Oh and I almost forgot ...the tools I love....my whisk and my microplane. I grated bittersweet chocolate heavily between each layer ,on the filling and then on the top....I promise that is the last change I made to the recipe...Mange !!

Hi trailrunner - I made this for the first time in September and discovered I don't like tiramisu because I hate coffee!!! But I made the recipe again in October for dinner guests, and I made one with coffee and one without so I could also enjoy it. Since then I saw a variation with pineapple flavors which I haven't tried yet. Your tiramisu looks picture perfect!

Mmmm...tiramisu is my very favourite dessert. Yours looks delicious! Good job trailrunner! I can practically taste it :)

Oh no, not again! What kind/brand/size of microplane and does it also zest citrus? Thanks for another delicious view. Hope your Christmas visiting 'the Chefs' was fun.

A useful tool that I have is a 'Lid Flipper". It's been out of production for many years. Made by Ecko, I think. Opens jars. My kind of cooking.

Y.U.M.....I will definitely be adding that to my list of to-do-desserts. we'll be doing a mexican themed new years day celebration and I'm supposed to do flan - wish me luck!

I, too, LOVE my microplane. I don't think I could live without it! Westsider: I zest citrus using my microplane. it works wonderfully for everything zest-worthy (whole nutmeg, chocolate, nuts, etc). and the brand is called Microplane.

country smile THANK YOU! I have seen a lot of variations but since I LOVE coffee I haven't tried them. This is one of the easiest recipes I have ever tried.

donka : THANK YOU ..I wish you were here to share a taste !

westsider: we did have a wonderful time but skipped the trip on to NYC after all the weather upsets. Will do it when it is warmer. I use my Microplane for everything. As mairin says you can use it for everything...giner root and cheese too. It is great.
