I think either one would go, I wouldn't base it just on the doors being shaker. I would mostly think about how how (the pendants especially) will look with the cabinets behind them. ORB if you want them to blend in more, nickel if you want them to stand out.

Then, if the chandelier is fairly close to where the pendants are going to go I'd go with the same finish. If they are far enough apart that you don't really notice them together then get whatever you like.

I think you could go either way too. I'd probably do both pendants and the chandelier in the same finish. What materials are your sink and faucet?

I have a penninsula too...with a deeper eating area where the cabinets wrap around. We have shaker style cabinets that are cherry and went with ORB pulls, knobs and chandelier. We love them.

If your appliances are stainless along with your pulls I think it would be important that either your cabinets or your granite work well with the ORB lighting. If so, I'd go for it. My feeling is too much stainless will shortly date your kitchen (of course, I could be wrong).

TO me, the ORB is a less contemporary look, in your examples. I think the nickel looks kind of modern, IMHO.

The ORB is somewhat Prairie or Arts and Crafts which does coordinate nicely with shaker style cabinets. Check the maximum wattage on each and see if that helps with a decision. What pendants would go with each? Love pictures!

Both are lovely so I don't think you can go wrong. I'm going ORB after struggling with the same decision but I'm going to use mostly ORB pull and knobs so I'm bias!
