I made it. Two layered pieces of 3/4" maple plywood edged with Chicago bar rail. There are cleats along the two walls underneath that the top screws down to. The screw heads are covered by the toe molding along the back edge. On the open end we added a cast iron bracket we bought online to give it some rigidity on the open corner. Stained it and then poured an epoxy resin topcoat to seal it. Let me know if you want more detailed images.

i'd love some additional images. I'm a novice so not sure if i will be able to replicate it but think it may be something i can handle.

The hardest part of this little side bar project was pouring the top. The rest wasn't too bad. Would you prefer that I send you pictures via email or here?
