What materials are use in the base?

What materials were used and how was this constructed? Can it be custom ordered?

    Thanks for you question. The base is made of LEED certified Plyboo Amber Edgegrain bamboo plywood and the four S-curves that make up the base are cut using a CNC milling machine (or shopbot). The curves are held together by a unique method of wiring steel cable that relies on opposing forces to hold the different curves in stable relation to each other. The base is available in 30" x 30" and 36" x 36" dimensions, but can be custom ordered to other sizes.
