Yup. I would suggest a buffet/console with no hutch.

If you like it, keep it. If you don't, replace it :-)

Depends on the bakers rack. I have always lived them. Some are cheap and rickety but others are gorgeous and classic. It's your decision and ALWAYS keep what you live despite current trends. That's how new trends are set.

I love them too. After we moved mine now conceals the side of a stainless refrigerator. The bottom cabinet houses the 'adult beverages'. The upper shelves have decorative but useful items on them such as two different shapes of iron baskets holding fresh produce. The top shelf has a cascading real plant tumbling over the side. It presents a much nicer view than the side of a fridge when you walk into the kitchen. And yes it is probably over 20 years old but very solidly built and still very attractive and useful.

I still have one my parents bought about 1970. It is in the garage now, but was definitely useful over the years.
