Don't spend the extra money on a whirlpool tub if it's not going to get used often. Get a good quality soaker tub instead.

We just installed a jacuzzi. It is wonderful but requires more water because the jets have to be under water. So we had to buy an 80 gallon hot water heater too. Unexpected expense. Be prepared for that.

Soaker tubs are popular and can be beautiful. Jacuzzi tubs cost more in the long run!

Hi. I enjoyed our bathtub with jets - luxury! We didn't stay long enough to deal long-term. We were supposed to clean periodically with diluted bleach, etc. which would've decreased the joy I think. I did like it and how it eased stress a bit.

I find that most people think they are a great idea but the novelty wears off very quickly I would do a soaker tub .

Jacuzzis are out. Dated and hated.

Soaker...whirlpools ought to be called cesspools.

We had a Jacuzzi tub in our last house I loved/adored it. Used it several times a week for the 10 years we lived there. Our current house does not have one, The "master bath " is extremely small and we are getting ready to do it. We are going against the trend, adding a Jacuzzi elara Whirlpool spa tub. What's even more against trend it will be a shower tub combo. "Gasp!"
You just need to ask yourself a couple of questions. Are you a tub person? Are you doing this for resale or for yourself? My answers.... I have always will be one who loves to relax in a nice warm bath. As for resale, so far from my mind. If I have it my way trends will have changed so much by then it will be time for another remodel. With that said I'm doing it totally doing this for myself I'm losing my mind without my Jacuzzi! The massage Jets feel so good on my muscles, back and joints I really do feel a difference without it.

If we worry about pure water to bathe in, just think about the water we drink and where it's been... anyway @Julie -- have you tried Epsom salts -- those make a bit of difference for me. Enjoy your new bath!!

Tub that large might lead to joint bathing...is that a practice you want to encourage amongst guests? :)

@everdebz, love Epsom salts, its considered a staple at our house! I not only use it in the tub but in the shower. When mixed with honey, coconut oil and essential oils it becomes a great exfolient!

Yeh thanks. It's better and cheaper your way, instead of a bath shop. Where do you find the cheapest honey?

@Everdebs I actually get my honey from Aldi when they stock organic. It's super cheap!

So you don't feel the need to dilute the oils? the rest dilutes it. :) sounds great.
