Characol gray for the cabinets and pale gray or white for the walls.

I actually like the color you have chosen (It looks like both wall and cabs are the same) except use a darker hue for the cabinets. If you wanted to get clever the back of the cabinets could be silver.

by back of cabinets do you mean the inside of cabinets? There are doors to the upper cabinets, they are just off! I was thinking of a darker gray for cabinets, but afraid the room would be too dark. So am now thinking of rethinking blue wall, which does look great with the backsplash and counter top. The upper cabinets are actually a different color than the wall, a blue grey that I thought did not work.

Ok, I thought that there were no doors. Everything I said goes, except painting the silver on the interior. I also thought, originally, that you were using two blues but figured it was just the light throwing me off. In which case--I think that you hare using the right colors, except the wrong way around. change the colors over. Use the dark color on the cabinets and the light color on the walls. it will look good with those stainless (?) tiles.

I love barn red cabinets! Would like nice with the grey.
