What is the exact length that this light would hang down from ceiling.

Height: 11.25" (measured from top to bottom of fixture, excludes chain length)
Overall Height: 47.25" (maximum measurement top to bottom of fixture with provided mounting hardware) Hope this helps

The fixture is supplied with 2-6" and 2-12" stems for each side and you can add or remove them for different heights. You would need to use at least the 6" stem to hang the fixture. Thanks!

Is it possible to get longer stems? I need the light to be about 8' from top to bottom.

HI, this comes with 105" of wire so it will be very close to 8'. Yes you can purchase more down rods if needed.

You have to use atleast a 6" stem on each side.
