Would you please tell what the kitchen counrtop is?

smart idea! That is why God made a woman, she knows what is needed and what to do!!!

And there is still a tin with utensils on the counter top! come on now...

Those of you that are nit picking over the (your) perceived excess quantity of utensils would appear not to be cooks. I have utensils in drawers, in a utensil holder on my counter, hanging from my pot rack and there still it isn't enough room. Kudos to Kirstin. I love the utensil holders in the drawer. The utensils are easily spotted, accessible, without digging, and stay clean. I wish I had the drawer space. Sadly, my kitchen has two, yes, only two drawers. Obviously designed by someone(a man?) who neither cooks or has never outfitted a proper kitchen. That reminds me of a documentary that I saw, years ago, with Julia Child shot in her kitchen. It was tiny and she had white pegboard on the walls to hang her utensils and pots and pans. I think about that sometimes when I complain about my kitchen, because, while I love to cook and do it a LOT, I am certainly no Julia Child. OK, enough of my 2 cents worth.
