Pottery Barn sodas

I've just ordered 2 rolled arm Cameron sofas from Pottery Barn in oatmeal textured linen cotton. I have enjoyed my sofa and love seat for 16 years but wanted something updated to enable me to change my decor in my living room with the seasons. Now I've read bad reviews on PB quality, so I would like to hear some good reviews from the Houzz community. Can you help calm my nerves?

Don't forget an area rug to anchor your new seating area. As with all furniture, it will wear faster with younger families. It will hold up with proper use. Pottery Barn backs their product. I make it a practice to read product reviews before I order anything. It will look beautiful.

Thank you. I do plan to get a rug after the sofas arrive. I usually check reviews too, but didn't even think about researching Pottery Barn. There will be limited use. We only use this room for entertaining, so hopefully it will be fine.

I consider Pottery Barn to be an mid to high end supplier so I would not worry about it.

In my opinion I don't like that pattern on the sofas at all!

I would consider changing the fabric on the sofas.

Yes, my current sofas are very outdated. You have given me confirmation that I've made the right decision to get new ones. :)

I seriously appreciate the comment on my present sofas. I wanted new ones, but was having a little bit of a tough time in getting rid of them. They are still in great shape, but definitely out of date. So thank you for your honest comments.

Cricket- your old sofas are in really good condition. Maybe you know someone who isn't that well-off and could use them? Young couple? I know they're a bit outdated, but a slipcover would do them a lot of justice. I wouldn't worry too much about the PB couches. If you like them and think they'll look good, be at ease. I have heard about the PB couch reviews, but I have also heard they're fine with limited-use -- exactly what you said they'll receive in your home. Be sure to post pictures once they arrive!

I've had several pieces of furniture from Pottery Barn, and have had great results. It's always been very good quality, I'm sure you'll be super pleased with your decision. :)

They sound very nice. Most furniture comes from China, no matter where you shop. So go with it. Get a area rug,to warm up room. 8x10.

HI -- You were happy with your old flowery sofas ... what make are they ? Maybe stay with that brand and see what they have instead of the iffy quality PB has to offer . Not every thing is made in China now . There is a lot of quality furniture made in Canada and the USA . Do an on line search .

My current sofas are Bassett. Unfortunately I've already ordered the PB sofas. However, I am encouraged now that we will be pleased with them.

    I bet they'll be great!

I'm about to order some sofas from PB and am considering the oatmeal textured linen. Do you have your sofas yet? Any pics you could share please. I can't find anything online of them in an actual room with that color. I'm wondering how yellow the oatmeal is. Thank you!

I'm so glad you sent your comment. I am very pleased with my sofas. The color is really an off white and not yellow at all. I'm attaching photos for you to see. Hope this helps you.

Thank you for taking the time to post. I wonder if your green walls is enhancing a milder tone. In my house, the large swatch takes on a yellowish tone, rather than a brownish tone of beige. Your sofas look lovely; love the change. Thanks again so very much!

Wow, they look great! Love all your colorful pillows. Colorful art on your mantle would complete your space.

That's a great suggestion linlac. I will start looking. I'm still shopping for a rug and would like a different chair. The wing chairs shown appear too small in scale.

They look great! But this is the article I always refer to when considering PB or like retailers:

Always consider a custom sofa from a reputable US company. Any good design shop or designer will have the resources. As stated in the above article, PB, Crate and Barrel, Rest. hardware are made for the masses and are all made in China! Overpriced for inferior materials!
