are you keeping the white counter top?

without seeing the style of the cabinet or knowing anything about your tsste, I would say paint it one the colors in the sandstone. in my opinion, there is no best color. I love the sandstone. was it added after the vanity? I personally would do a natural wood stained cabinet with slsb doors. the stain have to compliment the sandstone. as for the countertop, I think the sandstone stone would be too porous to use for the counter. I would coordinate the color of the counter top with the floor tile that I see. it could be tile, but the ground would need to be similar to the tile that you pick.

Wouldn't keep the white top, go with something more in between , I would had added glass mosaic on that 2 1/2 feet of open wall you got there to not make it look boring . I love the colour of the tile but white top won't work ... Look into Santa Cecilia and Fantasia colour top or sand white color granite

Also you look sand the cabinet and hand scraped to give it the rustic look and do a wash color stain , Martha Stewart sells the best stains

I currently have white cabinets and white counter top. We just redid the shower and will be putting a tall cabinet on the back wall where the tile only goes up half way. Cannot afford to replace the cabinets or cabinet top right now and want to paint the cabinets to update them to go with the shower. The floor is tile - beige and light brown. Would a dark brown cabinet look good?
