Will this light fixture work?

I just saw this light fixture at a lighting store. I fell in love. It is nothing like what I usually pick out - but it is just the coolest light when it is turned on.

Here's my issue: I'd like to use it on my dining room table. The ceilings are 8' high. The specs say the fixture is minimum of 39.5" in height. If my math is correct (using 30" as table height?), that leaves 26.5" between the top of the table and the bottom of this light fixture.

Is that enough space? It is not anything that anyone can bump into, but I don't want it to look too low. I just have no concept of how high this should hang. But I really love the light in person (pictures don't do it justice)!

the installation instructions indicate that the wires are adjustable. just do not cut them. the specification sheet states N/A for chain adjustment. of course, it has NO Chain.

I do not know if it can be installed flush or not. My friend installed it semi-flush, but she selected it after her ceiling was finished. good luck!

I'm familiar with this fixture or one very similar. a friend has it over the island in her kitchen.

personally, I think this fixture that you have is too long but not by much. in the case of my friend's fixture, it was my understanding that they could make the drop at a given height since we had to decide on the drop over her bar.

It is a great fixture!

I am going to check with the lighting store to see if I can shorten it with a little adjusting but I don't think that is possible. I will be beyond bummed. This is so cool when it is lit up!

I love the light fixture. I am just purchasing a house now and need to replace some track lighting and want something like this. What is the brand and name of the light fixture?

It is the ET2 Fizz IV. It is a new version of the fixture that is LED and dimmable as well as more light output then the previous version. It is really something when you see it illuminated!

I just called the lighting store and they said that it can be adjusted all the way up to 14".

So, I guess my next question would be, where should the bottom of the fixture hit (how high off of the table)? The table is a regular height table and the ceilings are 8'.

30" to 34" from the table top is the rule of thumb.

it will put out plenty of light so there is no need for it to be lower.

I would sit down at your table and set the drop so that the chandelier does not bother your sight line as you peer across the table.

if you are short, then the chandelier will be lower.

with this fixture, I would go with 36" based on my sight line. I'm 5'10".

I would say at least 36" from the table top. If much lower, make sure that you limit you dinner party lists to people who are not very tall. Ninety-six inch ceiling height minus sixty-six (for table plus 36") equals thirty inches hanging length for fixture. Go for it!
