Awful wall.

It's a horrendous wall. It's a plaster wall with a wooden panel piece covering it and on top of that textured wallpaper painted a disgusting pepto bismol colored pink along with random gold strokes on it. This room has a raised ceiling. And the main trim is pine.
...I don't don't even know where to begin.

Yep, it is awful. How about spray painting your bed a color you love, all white walls, woodwork and bedding, sheers on the windows. Buy white Ikea furniture. That will be a marked improvement and should not break the bank. Try BM Simply White.

The other walls are fine, and white. The windows have sheers. The bed has a canopy that's simply breath-taking.
And not breaking bank sounds fantastic!

removing the "awful" part of the wall might mean a bit of repair to the wall would be required, then paint like the rest of the room. More pictures of the room, furniture, windows and doors would get you more responses.

I would remove the wooden paneling and wallpaper, then repaint the room. Other than that, I like Judy's suggestion, and your wooden moldings are beautiful! Happy Holidays.

Underneath the wooden paneling, the plaster is cracked and has holes in it. And the paneling piece only goes halfway up the wall.

ok, so the wood paneling is covering up the bad places. can the plaster be repaired? Can you prime the paneling and wall, then repaint to match the other walls and be happy with it, or do you need more ideas? If so, we need more pictures of the room to be helpful.
