Guavas without much sun

Hi,

I am trying to plant out very spare inch of my very small yard and was wondering if Guavas would be able to grow along the blind (south) side of my house. They would only get the mid morning to just past noon sun (in summer) but would that be sufficient for them to fruit? Would anyone know?

My guess would be yes provided they don't suffer too much cold. They are frost sensitive. Our Guava only gets a couple of hours direct sunlight daily and produces quite well. You may want to consider doing some research to find out when and how to defoliate them with a urea spray. This will encourage them to flower and produce when you want them to. HTH teddyj
