Reading through all the past posts IÂm hoping that some of you should be able to help me out.

I have a new house and garden which is full of trees types that are new to me. One of them is a large Jacaranda. There are a couple of large splits in the bark, I have little people who like playing around the tree, so saftey is veru important to us.

I need to know are these splits growth related or something more sinister?
