I'd leave him au naturel and plan to put him in a "sea" of groundcover that will cover the base, perhaps some sedges, groundcover juniper, or low blue-green sedums. A few rocks could add to the scenery. He may need some holes drilled on the underside so that you can use a couple of short pieces of rebar to help hold him upright.
