My builder uses Houzz Pro to plan the timeline and give detailed estimates and daily updates with photos of progress, and provide invoices at pre-agreed key points in the build. This made the whole experience much more efficient and stress-free.
I went ahead and got one today. They ended up only having easy picks so I found one I thought I could work in to more normal tree. Not a fan of easy pick for in ground planting.
I spoke with the local crfg leader who said it pollenates best with apricots. Made it much easier for me since I had a spot with my apricots but not with the plums
I am hoping this is the same tree I lost to old age a couple of years ago
It must not be too common for nobody on here to be growing it. I got some from the farmers market this past summer and they were very good. But, I didn't realize until later that they were plumcots. They tasted like normal plums to me, but with decent sugar (16-17 brix and a bit of sweet-tart bite).
I am a bit confused....I have a Burbank PLUM that I got at home depot 2 years ago. So, is there both a Burbank Plum AND a Burbank Plumcot? I still have the original tag that says "Burbank plum" so I'm not mistaken- though Home Depot certainly could have been! thanks
I believe they are two different fruits, Burbank plum is a seedling of a Japanese plum selected by Burbank, and the plumcot is a cross between a plumcot (a 50/50 hybrid) x plum.
Pluots having more plum in the background. Because I had Pluots I just assumed, silly me, that I needed a plum to pollinate the Burbank Plumcot but from what I was told no I needed an Apricot.
