Supper Seed Store sells good seed but they are expensive. Google Hogan Seed (for example) as a somewhat less expensive alternative. Look for 85%+ seed germination rates, and 0% weed and 0% other crop seeds (gold tag rated seed).

Here is a webpage with names and websites of a number of online seed stores. Do you know what varieties of KBG you have? You would want to get something that will blend in well with what you have.

Thank you both for the advice.

Becky, I don't know the kbb type. It was a sod blend

Here are varieties recommended for Illinois.

Any chance you know who did the sod? Could contact them and see if they have the seed blend (my guy did) and was even able to give me a big zip lock bag of their seed which was nice for first year repairs and making a few repair pots.

Likely they use a blend of 3-4kinds - I would put some 1$ bet on it being a "KBG sod mix" from Jonathan Green.... :)

asking the landscaper is a good idea. and thanks for the cultivar list. some of those names remind me of fancy pot strains..."Desert Dragon Kush".
