Wider shot of the whole tree

Can't see the buds that well but it appears to be Abies Firma.

Yep...foliage looks right and it's showing the very characteristic branching structure.

Another sure test is to smell the foliage, assuming you have a good nose. Of all the firs I've encountered, only A. firma and A. holophylla are odorless. Abies chensiensis, almost so but still somewhat detectable.

Nice to see a large fir anywhere in the east US. Rather open compared to other firs, but IIRC that's typical for A. firma.

Yes they are open, but this why I planted one for shading BLEs. You don't want too-dense shade. At very best, they acquire a kind of picturesque quality, 1/2 way between a more typical fir and a Cedrus libani. The east Asian Pseudostuga are also rather open looking in pictures. I wonder if this is an adaptation to typhoon-force winds. (some would argue it's a consequence of them!)

I'd agree with Abies firma.

The large specimen at Biltmore Estate has a much fuller canopy than what is usually encountered. Adult foliage is distinctly different than the juvenile form most have seen on much younger plantings, but then again 100', 30" dbh A. firma are seldom viewed!

Johnny, both A firma? They look pretty similar...

Hi beng, The conifer just to the right of center is Picea orientalis
