I'm growing it here in upstate ny, but mine are very young, just rooted last winter.

I'm growing it up the road from you here in Fallbrook. I bought a 5 gallon Panache at Home Depot last year that turned out to be the first fig tree of that size to die on me. I bought a large air layer from Exotica this Summer. It has bad FMV, but that is expected for any fig I have gotten from Exotica. Give it a year in my care and that will clear up.

cyberfarmer, you could have bought it from Green Thumb in San Marcos and skipped all the usual issues with THD and Exotica!! :)

'Panache' is an excellent fig. Very ornamental tree, with fruit on the jammy side. The seeds are very crunchy as well.

I grow in container, tx z9a. Has produced tiny fruit which I just toss in th compost pile . Won't discard b/c tree is healthy but it sure hasn't thrived

I understand this is strictly a west coast fig ,and is not very good in the south.

I don't think I can disagree w/ that, based on my exp.
