I found that two things helped me control clinkers. First, some fuels seem to be more prone to producing them, so you might change your fuel. Second, I opened my damper a bit when I was having clinker problems. The increased air flow did wonders, It used to be that I had to remove a clinker daily; now I just remove one when I turn off the stove for other reasons. I can go many days straight without problems.
