Correcting Lighting Later?

Hello,

I am germinating Palmer amaranth for an experiment with natural herbicides. I "planted" the seeds 5 days ago (they are tiny, so basically put them on top of potting soil and lightly moistened with water). I was thinking the light source at the greenhouse I was using worked as a good heat source but it does appear to actually function giving off heat currently (it's an old greenhouse). Soil temp was approx 62 degrees when measured yesterday. I ordered grow lights that I will install today. Is hope lost for these seeds since they got off to a start without proper light or if I add the grow lights now will it be okay?

As long as they are not leggy the plants should be ok once you put them under the lights. The lights won't raise the heat though.

Recipe for disaster. Are you too lazy and frugal to buy a timer that will save you effort and money?

Hello.
Thank you for your advice, and I just purchased a timer (Woods 50008 Indoor 7-Day Digital Outlet Timer). I plan to use either this lighting set up (Hydrofarm JSV4 4-Foot Jump Start T5 Grow Light System- http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0055F80H0?ref_=pe_623860_70668690) or two of these (Mr. Light 88741 8W Linkable T5 Grow Light Fixture- http://www.amazon.com/Mr-Light-88741-Linkable-Fixture/dp/B004YZVQUA/ref=sr_1_26?s=lawn-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1421706382&sr=1-26&keywords=grow+lights). I also am planning to use string lights for heat. If my set up involves 4 10-20 in trays on a metal table, do you happen to have any suggestions for setting up the string lights etc?
