It was gorgeous here. Our mesonet station hit 81 degrees but we only made it to 78 at our house. Still, 78 degrees in January is pretty wonderful. I don't think we had good steady sunshine until the afternoon, but even a partly sunny day is a nice day.

The wind has been pretty bad and sure has spread grass fires today at various places around the state. With the heat and the way the wind was blowing, I was wondering if we were going to skip February and go straight to March. Sadly, the good times are all done and now we'll watch the temperatures fall and the rain roll in.

This early heat is giving my fruit trees and roses the wrong idea, so I want for the colder temperatures to hurry up and get here and bring those plants back to their senses.

I had an early morning eye appointment and they dilated my eyes. I wanted to be outside so badly but it was too bright for me and I missed the best outdoor day of the month. I was so bored that I took a nap.

A nap is never a bad thing, Carol. I need to make room in my life for more naps.

It was the best outdoor day of the month, but it felt too hot. I know that later on, we'll laugh that 81 degrees felt insanely hot, but it did. Tim, Chris and I all felt the weather this week has felt too hot to be comfortable. I guess that's because our bodies are more used to 40 or 50 degree highs at this time of the year.

I guess it is irrelevant now. The cold has returned and it is all downhill from here for the next few days.

Sorry you missed it, Carol! *hugs I hafta nap, sometimes. I think it's my heart.. just out of shape. It's ironic that gardening is the best thing for it.

Loved the day Had to clean the dirt from my fingernails. I still had hay in my hair before bedtime. Pitched hay on a windy day... lol
