Sorted Garden Seeds

I finally did it and am very proud of myself. I even tossed a few packets of expired seeds. I left a box of various saved and bought seeds of flowers that I will just toss or broadcast and if a few come up that will be a plus.

I forgot to order a few items from Baker Creek, so went ahead and paid another $3.50 postage which annoyed me. They are still much cheaper than some other companies. I g

I ordered Long Island Cheese pumpkins/squash. I raised these a few years ago and was very impressed. I canned several jars and found I was out this year when I went to make pies for Thanksgiving. The only negative on them is they aren't that bright orange we have come to expect from a can of pumpkin. I am still stunned by how much a can of pumpkin costs these days. You can get several cans from just one of these L.I. Cheese pumpkins.

Also bought cilantro, Genovese basil and German Chamomile.

I think I am set for the gardening year. I hope you all are too.

That picture just makes me happy looking at it. Holding a soft puppy would make you feel good except pretty soon the needle teeth will make that less pleasant. Those are fat puppies Glenda. Have you been slipping them some treats. How fun to have puppies. I predict they will dig and chew. This weather is not the greatest for puppies. Beau thinks he is a house dog now even though I don't let him in unless the night temp is in the low twenties. He doesn't understand my method. On this slow forum there is nothing like a puppy to brighten things up.

Helen, they have been fat from birth and when I first introduced them to Puppy Chow a few weeks ago, they fell on it and ate like adult dogs! They are the sweetest things and love people.
We have no idea their genetics but hope they don't get huge!

Sugar, who is almost the size of a Great Dane, is now laying by the heater in the kitchen. The warmth just paralyzes her.

Why is this forum so slow. Surely we have lots of gardeners out there.

I am visiting the Oklahoma forum again........

Now that's something I need to do, sort garden seeds.

Every time I pass Butternut squash at the grocery store I'm reminded that I want to try making "pumpkin" pie with that. I read awhile back that it was someone's favorite after experimenting with different types of pumpkin and squash.
