Hi, might anyone id these palms? I had asked my landscaper what they were and he said Sabal Minor. I told him to plant one and the one he planted has no visible trunk. In looking online I see that Sabal Minor usually doesen't have a visible trunk. These are planted all over my area and they all have substancial trunks as pictured. Any thoughts, thanks.

Those are Sabal minors alright, pretty old ones too. Those aren't technically trunks in the conventional sense. Minors don't truly trunk, but will eventually accumulate those old leaf bases which form the "trunk", but it will take quite some time to form those. Depending on where you live, I would guess those are at least 20 years old.

Thanks, I just moved here last year but I know the community was built in 2005, so I think they're 10 years old max. I was hoping they were a different palm.....I really like the way these look. I'm in South Carolina.

I was thinking they might be Sabal minor var. louisiana....

They were probably planted as large plants since they are a commercial planting. Minors are horribly slow from seed. Even if they were Louisianas (I can't differentiate between all the varieties of minors) they're still probably 20 years old.
