How does the rose grow? Up right, climber, rambler. There are lots of red and white roses out there, that's why I asked.

Doubtful that it's a rambler, as I think it was in bloom much of the year. Could be wrong about that though. And any time I've seen it, it looks as it does in the photo -- not very tall, at least. The owners don't seem to prune it much either, as it usually has a nice decoration of mature (and fertile) hips by winter.

Another one I saw last night that looks similar to it is Twister, but that one is a climber, so...?

The main things standing out for me are:

- red & white striped, w/ pattern similar to Scentimental

- lots of petals -- don't know exactly how many, but blooms look pretty full in pic; I also collected pollen from one last year & had to pick through a ton of petals

- small flower (maybe 1.5")

- blooms in clusters, likely with flushes throughout the year

It is not Twister. Twister is a miniature climber and most of those pictures of it on HMF are mine. My HMF profile is RevRoses. I think your neighbor's rose is Scentimental, a floribunda by Tom Carruth.

You will get many more responses to this question on the Antique Roses forum (even if it is not an antique rose). Also, if you take close up pictures of the prickles (thorns), the leaves, brand new growth, buds, and any hips, it will make it much easier to identify.

It is not Scentimental, the blooms are way too small for that. I'll try to take more pictures this summer -- am only looking for suggestions at this time.

Hard to tell, but your pic looks like my Julio Iglesias floribunda. :) Mine's in full blazing sun, blooms a lot and has lots of petals. The flowers are small, Hmf says 4 1/2" but I've never seen one that size on my plant, my blooms are 2" at most and the color/stripes do resemble Scentimental. The bush is small and leafy. My profile pic has a particularly good shot of the blooms but they are usually flatter. I can snap a pic from outside if you would like? The big thing about Julio's blooms is that they are very fragrant. Does your neighbor's blooms have a strong scent?
