The gray plant looks like Plectranthus argenteus. One way to tell for sure is to walk in a circle around the plant with high sun. The hairs on the leaves lie in particular directions, and, depending on the angle you are looking at the leaves, portions will appear more silver than green. This effect changes as you go around the plant, like turning a set of polarized lenses on a camera. It's a distinct effect.

I agree with Rich. Another telling characteristic is that Plectranthus flowers resemble those of coleus to which these plants are related. My question. What is the gorgeous plant with red flower spikes?

Ralph, that looks to me like Anigozanthos, Kangaroo Paws. I tried to grow it once but was only able to keep it going (in a pot) about 2-3 years here in NC. I'd try again if I ever run across it for sale.
