Refrigeration is the best way to keep seeds. Different seeds are viable for different lengths of time. The only advice I can give you if you have too many seeds to test is just to sow them and see what happens.

Well, I just treat the seeds as "new" for about 3x their usual shelf life when refrigerated in sealed containers. And 10 year old seeds seem to germinate as well as 1 year old seeds. So I usually don't worry about it.

But germination doesn't mean the same thing as total success and production viability and I am wondering about that.

OK, lets say a seed has a routine viability for 3 years kept in the packs. For me, keeping those same seeds in vials in the fridge makes it 9 years. And maybe more, but I tend to replace them after about 9 years. Better varieties usually.
