Vermicompost is very heavy.

It must be easy to sweep under your bins. Ours on the ground tend to be less easy to pick up the little bits that sometimes fall.

I'm guessing 95% of us here have never pH tested anything to do with our worms.

Testing for ph and moisture content after using a cement mixer to stir up coffee grounds, cardboard, and whatnot would be, IMHO, overthinking the process somewhat.

The "moist like a wrung-out sponge" would work very well, and ph is just totally way over-rated when chunking stuff into a cement mixer as long as you consider DIVERSITY when chunking stuff in there.

What everyone else said. And I hope you aren't putting a lot of soil in there. None whatsoever would be best, unless it has a lot of organic matter in it, and you are hoping to use it to inoculate the bin. But that shouldn't be necessary for an established bin and is hardly necessary for a new bin. The leaves should be sufficient to inoculate the bin.

I agree with cb2. You mix your "ingredients" and decomp keeps going and going and going and I imagine pH will change with that too (or not) maybe at a slow rate?
I think most of us just follow what makes sense.

I would put the worms in after mixing :)

Have used the mixer to blend up some potting mix a few times. It does do a fine job of incorporating everything together but most times I just use a wheel barrow or plastic tub and a hoe.
