Bluestar range - continuous issues

Just wondering if this is standard for Bluestar...

I got a range from them (30" RNB) about 5 years ago. I generally have to replace an ignitor or two a year, which is no big deal.

My main problems however are much more annoying (and dangerous) -

Seems like the broiler timing is often off. I'll turn the broiler on, wait a few minutes, then hear a loud BOOM and the oven door shakes - I guess it ignited then. If I had the door open when that happened heck knows what would happen. I have had parts replaced, but it still does it a couple of times a week.

I had this happen with the oven burner too, which they replaced and no longer does it.

I also seem to have issues with a loud POP noise as the oven is cooling down - from what I can gather, in my range aluminium rivets were used to hold stainless steel together - and those seem to be splitting. I can only think that the rivets expand at a different rate to the steel, causing them to split.

I have also had a replacement door, since one kept sticking.

Up until a year ago Bluestar have been great about helping out with these problems. I still feel like the range is dangerous in some repsects - just wondering if others have had this problem?

I bought mine a year or two ago, no problems with igniters or doors or boom while cooking. I do get the boom after the oven has been turned off and is cooling down. I assume it is due to contraction of the metal, but don't think it is a safety issue

I have an older Bluestar, and replaced the door several years ago with the upgrade. So, if you broiler lights with a boom... this means that the glowbar is worn out, OR that it's not aligned properly - even a silly millimeter might cause a delay of ignition-and you have your boom!

If you had the broiler looked at recently, you need to call back the repair person pronto and get it fixed. It's not rocket science, as they say.

Next, the oven pop when cooling.....This is likely caused by the expansion of the steel oven walls and is not unheard of in all ovens- that is -it may be normal.

Its possible the oven floor doesn't have a reinforcement under it (actually a baffle for the heat). Possible but you can take the oven floor out and turn it over and check if it's there and welded securely.

The only rivets used in a Bluestar are to attach side supports to the wall, that support the same oven floor. New rivets can easily be installed if they are lose or broken. You can borrow a rivet gun (you just squeeze it like a pair of pliers) and buy some rivets about the same size (cheap).. However I don't think that's where you're getting the oven 'pop' from.

our bluestar is about 6 years old and is a piece of crap! in 6 years we have replaced the bake igniter 6 times the first 3 were done by the appliance repair company and cost about $300 each time. The first time it was over a year and Bluestar refused to cover it despite the fact that we told them the oven worked intermittently for months before the igniter totally died. The next 3 igniters I replaced myself and bought the igniters on Amazon. The problem was that two of these 3 igniters lasted less than 6 weeks and one lasted about 8 weeks! Bluestar has now answers and no real cure for the problem.

...and when our oven does ignite it ocassionally sounds like a small exposion! The other issue is the convection fan is noisy. Yes, we make sure to pull the racks away from it but it still rattles!

Don't waste your money on a bluestar!
