If you followup with some web research, you'll see many contrasting views on the topic. However, from 2006 PFOA was stopped in the manufacture of PTFE/Teflon, with a phase out by this year. There are concerns also with respect to high temperature heating of the pans.

If you want non stick, you might consider one of the PFOA or true ceramic based non sticks. I like my Zwilling Henckels Spirit Thermolon pans and use them for eggs and fish. I use stainless for other purposes.
