I've only seen the Demeyere Atlantis sets bundled with the Proline frying pans -- the same with their website. Now, the Controlinduc is a different product in the Atlantis line -- is that what you are referring to?

No, not Controlinduc. I saw an ad referring to Atlantis frying pans by Demeyere and I had been under the impression that the Proline frying pans were the ones that came with the Atlantis set, so I was confused. Is there such a thing as as an Atlantis frying pan?

I think the Proline is considered to be the best frying pan Demeyere makes, and that is why they are included in the sets. I can't remember if my boxes (I bought all my pieces as open stock) said they were part of the Atlantis series or not -- the saucepan and sauteuses, yes..

Years ago I bought an Atlantis fry pan - love it - & at some point afterward, the Proline was introduced which apparently replaced the Atlantis skillets. I've never seen them side-by-side so can't make a true comparison, but have always felt they are not the same. Perhaps the Proline is a tad lighter & the design slightly different? Every time I look at one, I'm glad I bought the Atlantis before it changed, but have no idea if they cook differently.
