Buzzing induction cooktop

We just installed a Bosch 800 30" induction cooktop. To my dismay, the buzzing sound was much louder than I anticipated. Tonight, I was boiling water for tea and happened to turn off the lights over the cooktop- the buzzing became almost inaudible! I thought maybe it was a coincidence, so I turned the lights back on, and sure enough, the buzz got louder. Has this happened to anyone else? Any explanations or solutions? I'm thinking I'll post on the electrical forums, too? Thanks for any thoughts.

Somebody (but I don't remember who!) described a similar phenomenon with her LED lights. Try a search.

    Barbara
SJ- I posted the issue, so think you remember my post.
I have the same issue with my Wolfie - but took me 2 years to figure it out as I almost always have my lights on except when I had Wolf come out to look at it during the day and was scratching my head on why it didn't seem so noisy.
I plan to have Sparky come out to help figure it out but I think I have a defective LED can light as we honed in one an which buzzes slightly.
I will be curious to see if you can find the interference issue.

a2gemini, it was a fluke that I found the connection. The switches are new- LEDs on a track above the sink and along the fridge wall, and two chandeliers above the cooktop. I went to turn the leds on and hit the chandeliers instead. The leds don't affect the cooktop at all, but the chandeliers,
which hold 4- 60 watt regular candelabra bulbs each, are the culprits: on - louder buzz. Off- almost nil. They're on an old style dimmer, so I'm going to have the electrician swap it out for a newer one. I don't know, maybe it's the wattage? I've read several threads with people having the same problem, but not one that offers a solution. I guess it'll be a trial and error thing. I do know this- this is my first experience with induction, and despite this snafu, I LOVE IT! Thanks for the response. Looking forward to hearing about your solution, and I'll post about mine.

I keep forgetting to test out my lights when the cooktop (Bosch) is on. I don't have a reno'd kitchen so have fluorescent panels and a couple of pendants with LEDs. The fluorescents are usually on for meals. I'll be interested in any fix, too.

The loudest buzz happens on boost, otherwise it's kind of a low cycling sound. No worse than the radiant I had previously. Well, except for function! Radiant is definitely worse.

My only LED's are the u/c's. I tested it and thought, oh! a hum, then tested further and figured out that it was that there wasn't enough water in the kettle anymore and it continued with the lights off.

Good luck with fixing it both of you!

    Pillog - that is funny!
After the holiday, I hope to address my issue.
For now, I turn off the big lights if it is bothering me.
I showed the Wolf factory repair guy the light issue as well so he might be able to help others.
