8 Month Old Kitten Weight

Hey,
So today I was having a look around the Internet, wondering if my kitten was the right weight. Unfortunately my scales don't work and the kitten is too heavy to be weighed in the kitchen scales.
We are now free feeding him dry Whiskas Dry for kittens, with morning and evening where we either give him raw chicken liver and hearts or wet food Whiskas (mainly adults). We are planning to switch him to a raw food diet (once we find another use for the dry cat food we have, or until he eats it all), armed with a cat food cookbook and various 'My Cat From Hell' clips.
He is very active and I try and play with him often and during the day we leave him various toys. Also he goes outside often, unless it's too cold or wet. We rescued him from the streets last August and he was tiny and malnourished, dirty etc. Now he has a glossy coat and eats healthily (and often!).
He doen't show any signs of stress and his stool and urine seems fine. I don't think he will have problems with the raw food diet as he loves raw meat, and isn't very enthusiastic about the dry food.
But, I don't want to lower his calorie intake unless I know for sure if he is overweight. And, here the vet visits cost a fortune so I'd first like to see if anyone can help me first.
So, here are the photos:
