Closet lighting

I am redoing my closet and I am stuck on the lighting. I've Googled around and have seen closets with track lighting, can lights, chandeliers, regular flush mount, funky round fluorescent flush mount, etc.

What do the cool kids have in their closets? :) Keep in mind that I am old and need LIGHT. I'd like to use something stylish if possible. I don't think my closet will be grand enough to pull off a chandelier and my taste is actually more cottage than glamorous.

There are all kinds of fun lights out there just make sure that nothing will touch your lights in a closet for fire safety reasons. If your room is big enough, you could do any fun light in there, including a mini-chandelier. Some of them are reasonably priced and fun.

We put antique art deco lights from eBay in ours. Kind of chandelier-y but not quite a full chandie. They provide lots of light! There's lots available online for a reasonable price...

I had planned to get a flush, utilitarian ceiling fixture for my brand-y new, DH-built walk-in closet. We walked into the lighting store (after I had viewed an increasing number of chandeliers in magazines and here on GW), and all the bling caught my eye, and then some. It literally CALLED to me!

Here's my closet light fixture:

My walk in is purely functional so I have two 3' fluorescent lighting fixtures mounted to the ceiling. Nothing attractive or fancy, but it is bright and I can see the difference between black and navy in there...and that's what I told the electrician I wanted.

the house we moved to had 2 ceiling mounted globed fixtures that really didn't light the closet enough for me... we replaced them with 2 inexpensive mini chandeliers with 3 bulbs each... they're cute and brighten up the closet a lot!

my parents had a light like the one in your first pic in their living room! (without the crystal ball) it looks beautiful in your fantastic closet....could you give me your search terms used on ebay to find it? i would love to find a similar light for my hallway...

Wow, Cat Mom! That light would have sucked me in, as well. I wish I had a big enough closet for something like that :)
