Paint color help, please

Hello!
This is the living/dining area of our new home. We are removing the wall with the open doorway to make it one room, and use primarily as a dining room. We have a 112" long yellow pine table that will be used in this room. I was thinking of painting the walls in SW 6900 Optimistic Yellow, and paint the far (short) wall in SW 7604 Smoky Blue. That entire wall will be used for a fireplace flanked by mirrored glass curios (not matching). I would like to unify the curios by painting them in an ivory chalk paint.
Any thoughts?

I also wanted to mention that the existing light fixtures will be removed, and two of these will be hung over the dining table.

Only after you have chosen ALL fabrics on chairs, rugs, draperies in both areas should you consider wall paint colors. There are a bazillion paint colors & shades but only a few fabrics, rugs, etc. that you will like. Wall paint colors should always be selected LAST.

I would also consider removing the chair rail in that room. It will make your ceilings appear higher.

Thank you, Barbara. I am attaching a picture of the upholstered dining room chairs, and the rug. The rug can be replaced. Yes, I did mean to mention that we will be removing the chair rail.

Choose your rug next..try to use the reds in chair fabric and painting (love it by the way) as a dominant color for the rug. How about window treatments? Maybe for a paint color a grayer shade of the blue in the painting. Paint the ceiling a lighter shade of the wall color...but always paint the ceiling...then if you have crown moulding it will really "pop".

Thank you for the great comments, Barbara! Here is a picture of a part of the rug (sorry, moving boxes everywhere, so I can't get a better shot). Also, pictures of the windows in the room. What would you suggest for the window treatments?

I would do simple drapery panels, hung high..near the ceiling (just under crown if you add it). Use a thicker wooden rod, dark in color. Make sure panels hang just off the window sides just covering the side window trim. I would choose a solid color..maybe with some texture. You have enough pattern in the room with the rug & chair seats. I would suggest they could be a slightly darker shade of the wall color. That way it adds the softness to the room, but it will also help expand the size of the room.

PS..I love your new light fixtures..they will be perfect. Art or mirrors for the walls should be large in scale and hung vertically where possible...such as a mirror.
