Your space is lovely with a minimalist neutral airy feel. You seem to have a green thumb as well. I'm not sure you need to add anything to the kitchen, in fact I'd just remove a few things and shift and group other items to leave the kitchen more sleek with only items that add to function.
You didn't say if you are renting - which often means restrictions regarding hanging art/ shelves/ spice rack etc.- the one space in the kitchen that does seem to need something is the wall bumped out beside the range hood (spice rack?). Otherwise I'd clear off the peninsula, plus remove the glass candle sticks, put the plant in the basket to the left of the sink. The hurricane candles can sit on the dining table either side of your succulent or on their own. So that would leave your plants to group on the right of the TV with vases and glass candle sticks to the left.
Your space really is lovely - just tiny little tweaks like grouping plants or glass and ceramics, by removal of the superfluous, will allow the materials to add warmth and coalesce with the whole space thus embracing the sleek but comfortable feel of your kitchen within the flat.

thanks a lot, I really appreciate your advice, it sounds so obvious now when you named it! You really put all the ideas into context. And yes,it is my own space, I bought newly built flat and reconstructed it and this is the result. Thanks a lot!
