Don't judge by photos on the computer. Both the photo and the monitor can distort the true shade. You need to see the color in your space, with your lighting, both in natural and artificial light, with your countertops and flooring, before you commit.

unfortunately, we don't have that option...they paint before the kitchen and floors go in :-(

OK then, get in there with a piece of drywall painted with two coats of the color and see how it actually looks in the space.

I had Ben Moore Elmira White in an east facing kitchen with a lot of natural light and it had a pinkish cast which I didn't like. I just covered it with Edgecomb Grey and if anything it has a slight putty undertone, not at all pinky/purple. It's a light warm grey, not a cool, cold grey. I find it doesn't change much depending on the time of day, and I like that. Just my experience.

Yes, Amanda is right, if you're looking for a true grey, Edgecomb doesn't fit the bill. What Amanda considers brown is probably what I was referring to as a slight putty undertone. You can compare it to other Ben Moore greys and see it leans to the warm side.

bm gray owl is more neutral

I recently had our main floor painted and narrowed my choice down to BM edgecomb gray and SW accessible beige. I googled both and found a few discussing pink undertones with edgecomb gray too. When comparing the two cards, to me it looked like accessible beige was ever so slightly more gray than edgecomb gray. In the end, I worried about pink undertones and went with accessible beige. We're very happy with it, but I think it and edgecomb gray are both greige rather than gray.

Thank you!! I think we're going to take our chances and stick with the edgecomb gray. I've heard so many great reviews of the paint color and we want a "warm" gray.

EG is a great color. If it has undertones, I'd say it more yellow than pink.

I picked Edgecomb as the neutral in our house and started with the front hallway - moderate light, wainscoating painted BM Simply White. After completing painting, I started to get a pinkish vibe which absolutely drives me crazy! Thought it could be my setting but was at a friend's house that used EC too and saw the same undertones with extremely different environments. Although, we both have Edison lighting - not sure if that could impact. Also wish it was a tinge more gray because, honestly I only see beige in it. Pls note I got this paint at a BM dealer after experiencing a terrible experience with Home Depot trying to color match EC in Behr paint - it came out extremely violet! Now on the hunt for a paint a tiny bit more gray without the pinkish glow. Any suggestions?

I've had trouble with samples not matching the paint chips as well, various brands, but especially Valspar. I've been looking for a similar paint, clandhans97 - try BM fog mist - a hint lighter and a hint more gray to me and in my space.

It’s in my home now... I do not see any pink under stone if any it’s a green grey and very neutral... once again I think color matching is for me not a safe option. I’ve had that go totally wrong.

We just painted our dining room with Edgecomb gray . It was mixed by Ben Moore. our dining room doesn’t have a lot of light but has some . The color changes from day to night and the weather also changes the color . sometimes it’s a nice light tan and or beige. But - unfortunately when the sun is out , the Edgecomb Gray is the “ pinky purple “ that people on this forum are describing . We’ve already painted the dining room numerous times as we are new to painting and so we’re just going to keep it and make peace with it . Also , we painted a large thin wooden poster board with a sample of the E.C.G. . I didn’t see the pink color on the sample board . We listened to a review about the color and they never mentioned the pink- purple cast about the color .

It’s definitely a chameleon color especially if you have you have a lot of light. It’s on my second floor.. there it looks beige /gray..

I thought edgecomb grey looks like a dirty color. Not at all pretty. We have a lot of wood. Pics looked lovely!

Reading comments. Our painter’s advice was to stick with the paint manufacturer. We tried both an eggshell and flat. The flat was much lighter. I wanted a lighter color than edgecomb and reading suggested Glacier white. Looked really pretty in my kitchen light, but in the morning it is awfully bright.

Painter painted one coat of edgecomb gray in our south facing LR, looked great in the evening. Next morning, I saw the pink! Looking for a greige that is not blue or green.... but not pink either! Agreeable gray? Colonnade gray? Help!

Responding to Simpsonc: We only have Edgecomb gray in our windowless bathroom and love it. Grays we like in other parts of the house: Winds Breath. Tyler gray. York gray. It just depends on the natural light in your house.

I have edgecomb grey in a bathroom with no windows and love it. So we just painted our basement family room in it. There are 2 medium size windows. It definitely has a pink undertone. Our lighting isn't the greatest downstairs, so I'm going to check that out when we can get back into a lighting store.

I painted some of a wall facing a wall with large north facing windows and we saw a pink undertone! So we didn’t go with it. I may try using it in our basement which has no natural light.

I also am considering Edgecomb Gray and with all the talk of seeing pink, my question is if my floor tile has an undertone of pink, would more pink be brought out or does it tone the pink down some? any comments?

I just painted our den with edgecombe grey today (we had it at our previous house and it was gorgeous), omg it looks terrible! This new context has a lot of natural sunlight, the walls now look like a beige salmon. My husband refused to believe me that it was edgecombe grey, I showed him the chip and the paint I put on it to check the match, so hard to believe/understand that it looks this wrong. Guess a whole bunch of testing colours on the wall is the next step. Sigh.
