A picture of the whole tree with trunk and pot (+ view of soil top) would help a lot.

I looked on Ikeas website and identified it as a ficus microcarpa ginseng. But my question on the dropping leaves remains.

Ficus are notorious for dropping leaves when you get them home because light levels are not what they're used to... make sure it gets

Looks like it got cold... did it get cold / freeze? Leaves look brown and blackish, are they soft?

this is what they call Ginseng ficus. it is a commercial name that identifies a retusa ficus with enlarged roots by means of hormones upon which smaller branches are grafted (from a younger retusa ficus). Bonsai fanatics do not consider these trees as real bonsai.

the leaves are most likely dropping due to the sudden change in temperature and humidity when you brought it home. you have to wait for spring and see if it comes to life again. in the meantime you could wrap it in a transparent plastic bag and let it be. do not water if you do that.

Gently pull the tree from the pot and look at the soil. If it drips water it was probably overwatered but I suspect this one has not had enough water. Or the tree was located in a draft and got some really cold blast of wind on it.

I was given one of these plants as a gift from a local store. After a while at home it started shedding leaves until it was almost bald. It turned out the pot it was sold in did not have any drainage holes at all and the roots were starting to rot.

I took it out of the pot, drilled drainage holes, raked all the roots and a gave it some better soil.

It is now growing new leaves and branches.

I guess the store that sold it did not want water dripping from the pot down its shelves.
