I have some questions about recommended practices for successful apple grafting in the LA area.Last year, I tried unsuccessfully to graft scions from my very productive Dorsett Goldens and Anna's onto my well established White Pearmain and 'Winter' apple trees using cleft grafts. No success.
I am wondering if the fact that both the Dorsett and Anna's bloom very early in the year, while the Pearmain and Winter bloom considerably later is an issue...
